Who should attend this program?
CDEP is an educational program in leadership and management principles for progressive dairy executives, primarily targeted toward the dairy farm manager, but of interest to agri-service personnel working in management and directly with producers. It is designed for progressive managers in dairy production who have 5 or more years of dairy experience in a decision making position, access to financial data, and are committed to a career in the dairy business.
Business owners and managers affiliated with dairy production that are committed to working with their customers and improving their business and the industry are also welcomed to apply.
What time do the sessions start?
Exec 1 presentations begin on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and conclude at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday. Exec 2 and 3 presentations begin at 2:30 p.m. on Monday and conclude at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
How much out of class homework is there?
While there will be some preparation work out of class, the amount is minimal. Sample assignments may include reading, self-assessment and financial worksheets.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is business casual, so that everyone is comfortable during the program - no suits, ties or formal clothing are expected.
I am flying. Which airport should I arrive at?
You should fly to and from The Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport (ITH). There is a complimentary shuttle between the airport and the Statler Hotel and Executive Education Center. Our office will make arrangements for the shuttle to pick you up at the airport
What is a typical day like?
A typical day includes four activities: sessions, individual study, small group discussions, and roundtable discussions with faculty. With the fully-packed agenda and the importance of group interaction to the program, participants are expected to spend the entire time at the conference center, including overnight lodging. Programs begin at 7:45 a.m. and finish after 9:00 p.m. each day. Please be prepared to leave your business responsibilities at home.
