New on-demand format!

This course will focus on practical information for day to day management and decision making of forage crops from crop selection to feed out on a dairy farm. The course will begin by establishing an understanding of the science of silage and then will follow the crop from agronomic factors that influence forage quality to key strategies for harvest, preservation and feed-out of quality feed. Most course topics are applicable to any dairy operation and storage structure, but additional aspects of the course are specific to Northeast U.S. growing conditions and structures.

A variety of topics to develop the knowledge base of farm owners and the agricultural workforce are available online, archived by topic.
